Demo Workshop: Doing Videography/Life through My Eyes, with Robert Branch

On Thursday, August 16th, artist and videographer, Robert Branch,
will conduct a program for Long Island middle school students on best
practices and techniques in videography. Mr. Branch will engage his
audience in shooting and capturing high quality video, whether for fun, a
classroom assignment, or use in another creative way. The program will
explore how to shoot video most effectively with a variety of tools
(including flip, web, and cellphone cameras).
Robert Branch a long-term participant of the Tim Rollins and K.O.S. (Kids of Survival) art collective. He holds a bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from The Cooper Union and a master's degree in Instructional Technology and Media from Teachers College' Columbia University. He is a former public school art teacher and currently works for Columbia University. His research interests include, but are not limited to, collaborative social learning spaces and low budget and experimental filmmaking.
Regina Casale is a doctoral student in Interdisciplinary Studies at Teachers College and a long-time member of the Film and Education Research Academy (FERA) and First Vice President of the Long Island Latino Teachers Association, Inc. (LILTA). She teaches Spanish at Longwood Junior High School in Long Island. Students attending this workshop are from Patchogue, NY and are participants of Life through My Eyes project co-sponsored by LILTA and FERA and funded by WK. Kellogg Foundation.
This demo workshop is co-sponsored by FERA and the Gottesman Libraries. Persons interested in attending may rsvp by Friday, August 10th.
