Live Music: Sonia Szajnberg (Jazz Duet)

Vocalist and composer Sonia
Szajnberg (shine-berg), lives in Brooklyn, NY,
where she leads her own ensembles in venues throughout the area. Sonia's
independently released album, Simple Talk, features a collection of her
favorite songs and original compositions. Sonia has been recognized nationally
and internationally as an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer, an ASCAP Next Generation
Songwriter, and a participant in the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency. She
holds dual master's degrees in jazz performance and music education from
Manhattan School of Music and Teachers College, Columbia University
and has studied with Theo Bleckmann, Dena DeRose, Peter Eldridge, and Kate
McGarry.
