4th Annual BLACK STUDENT NETWORK Diversity in Research & Practice Conference
- Location TBA
- From 4/19/2013, 5:00 PM To 4/20/2013, 5:00 PM
The Teachers College, Columbia University Black Student Network (BSN) and the Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) invite you to join us at the 4th Annual Diversity in Research & Practice Conference (DiRP). DiRP seeks to influence the progression of diversity in education research and practice by assembling students, scholars, and community leaders concerned with critical issues in education.
The 2013 conference theme “Changing the Game: Expanding Discourses in Research” is representative of the changing landscape in education research and practice. More specifically, this year’s conference theme will provide a space and the contexts to expand the existing discourses about the research on and practices within our schools and communities. This year’s conference will challenge participants to think about innovate ways to advocate for and promote students and scholars who are “game changers” in their respective areas.
The 2013 conference committee is currently seeking proposals for presentations, roundtable discussions, panels, and school- or community-based work related to this year’s conference theme.
