News Display: United Nations Day,

The history of United Nations Day goes back to October 24, 1948 when the organization's charter officially came into force. In 1971 the UN General Assembly recommended that the day be observed by Member States as a public holiday.

The news display will feature stories informative of the history and observance of United Nations day, enhancing the theme of Cosmopolitanism as it is presented in the Socratic Conversation scheduled in the afternoon.

The Everett Cafe features educational news displays on a wide range of topics, in addition to daily postings of headlines from around the world.
