DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous contribution to the field of multilingual education by Professor Maria Torres-Guzman, Coordinator of the Program in Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Teachers College, Columbia University, NYC. After more than 25 years as professor, mentor and advocate of ethnolinguistic minorities, Dr. Torres-Guzman will retire at the end of this spring 2013. On Friday, May 3rd, there will be an evening reception from 6-8PM at Amsterdam Restaurant & Tapas On Saturday, May 4th there will be a conference on Language, Identity, and Culture at TC.
