DOWNLOAD FLYER

What is the relationship between family involvement and school success? How do we reframe family involvement as a key component of broader comprehensive learning systems in which families, schools, after-school programs, school-based health clinics, and others have a shared responsibility for children’s learning? How do we shape public policy to strengthen family involvement efforts? Heather Weiss will present her research findings and discuss these important questions with respondents, Richard Buery, a leader in the community school movement, and Larry Wood, an active parent in the New York City school system.

Heather Weiss, Director, Harvard Family Research Project

Larry Wood, New York City public school parent and Family Council Organizer, Goddard Riverside Community Center
