Clive R. Belfield is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Queens College, City University of New York and Associate Director for the National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education at Teachers College. His most recent book is Privatizing Educational Choices in America's Schools (Paradigm Publishers, 2005). He has conducted economic analyses of pre-schooling programs for the states of New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He is also the Editor of a forthcoming collection of articles on The Economics of Early Childhood Education.
