About our Ongoing Projects

Most broadly, our research focuses on minority stress theory or, how societal structures and attitudes shape identity development and psychological health for members of marginalized groups. We are currently engaged in a number of projects examining: 

  1. The psychological impact of discrimination and stigma on people from marginalized groups (e.g., LGB and gender diverse people)
  2. Body image and objectification theory
  3. Measurement validation and development 
  4. Intersections of marginalized identities
  5. Collective action and activist behaviors 
  6. The role of dating/sex apps in well-being
