Hamilton, Bermuda, CANA - A 21-year-old cruise ship worker involved in a plot to smuggle US$135,000 of cannabis into Bermuda has been jailed for five years. Deaneo Martino Stewart, a breakfast chef on the Zenith cruise ship, said he was approached by two unknown men at the docks in New York on September 30 last year and asked if he would deliver the cannabis, which was already on the ship. He told the Supreme Court last Friday that he had no history of involvement in drugs and stupidly decided to agree because he was looking after his out-of-work father, his wife and two children.
