The Eastern Kingston Police seized several kilogrammes of ganja during a snap raid at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre.

Two inmates have been charged in connection with the find.

It's reported that Thursday afternoon the police conducted a search of the maximum-security prison and seized approximately seven kilogrammes or 15 pounds of ganja.

They also found 73 sticks of marijuana, a machete and a file.

The police have not released the names of the inmates charged, however, one of them is serving life imprisonment while the other is serving a 15 year sentence.
