Title: Two scholars from Beijing Normal University will give presentations at TC

Presentation 1: Reform of mathematics education in China

                         By Prof. Qi Chunxia PhD.

Presentation 2: Early childhood education in China: challenges and policies

                         By Prof. Wang Yiying PhD.


This is the fifth session of a series of presentation on Chinese education by researchers from China and Teachers College.

Professor Qi Chunxia is a Fulbright Scholar at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Qi is a professor of School of Education in Beijing Normal University. She specializes in comparative studies on curriculum and instruction of basic education and reform of curriculum with particular interest in mathematics education. She will give a presentation on the reform of mathematics education in China.
 
Professor Wang Yiying is also a Fulbright Scholar at Teachers Collage, Columbia University from School of Education, Beijing Normal University. Dr. Wang specializes in early childhood education, curriculum development, and preschool music education. She will talk on the issue of early childhood education in China.
 
Refreshment will be provided at 12:30 p.m. and the presentations will start at 12:45 p.m. This series of presentation is open to TC community and to the public. Well come to join the event. The event is co-sponsored by the Center on Chinese Education, the Office for International Services, and the Chinese Student Association of Teachers College.
