Dr. Tsai Yen-Ping Visited Students at Yunnan Normal University
Dr. Tsai Yen-Ping, Chairwoman of Natural Beauty, Inc. visited Yunnan Normal University on May 4, 2007 to meet the students who had received scholarships donated by her. Her scholarships would cover the entire cost of a four-year college education for these students. Upon graduation from Yunnan Normal Universities, the students would return to their hometown to serve as secondary teachers. Dr. Tsai's visit was subsequently broadcasted on education TV in China, as an example of how social contributions could make a college education dream come true for students from the poorest backgrounds in China. The scholarship project was initiated and designed by the Center on Chinese Education, Teachers College Columbia University.
