We seek to contribute to a better understanding of education development in China and to strengthen education relationship between the United States and China.

The president of Chinese Association of Independent Schools, Mr. Xiping Tao, will visit Teachers College on April 3rd, 2008 and provide a lecture on Private Education in China.
Mr. Tao Xiping is a widely influential and respected figure in Chinese primary and secondary education. Involved in the education field for more than 40 years, Mr. Tao has served as a school teacher, principal, district and regional education official. He is currently the Vice-President of the Chinese Society of Education, President of Chinese Association of Independent Schools, President of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, Chair of the Asian Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, Vice-chair of World Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, and Counselor to the Chinese Deputy Education Minister. Former positions held by Mr. Tao include Director of the Beijing Education Bureau, Assistant to the Mayor of Beijing, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the Beijing People’s Congress among many others.
Mr. Tao is the editor-in-chief for the Thesaurus of Education Evaluation,and the Multiple Intelligence and Curriculum Reformation Series. He is author of many educational publications including a recent publication New Thinking on Education Reform: To Make the Failure Rate Zero.
