Lecture by Professor Hu, Ruiwen

The previous president of Shanghai Academy of Educational Sciences, Professor Ruiwen Hu, visited Teachers College on April 28th, 2008 and provided a lecture on China Education.

Professor Hu graduated from Bachelor of Philosophy, Fudan University. He worked as the associate director of Shanghai Higher Education Research Institute from 1982 to 1985. Then he founded Shanghai Institute of Human Resource Development and worked as its director. In 1993-1995, Prof. Hu worked as the deputy chancellor of Shanghai Higher Education Department. He also worked as the consultants for various governmental education agencies.

Professor Hu's research interests include Human Capital Development, Higher Education, and Basic Education. He edited “The Development of Basic Education in China”, “Country Development and Basic Education”, “Forty Years Experience of China’s Education”, etc. Also he wrote many articles about the education development in China.
