Professor Xie Weihe, Vice-president of Tsinghua University, visited Teachers College for about one week in February, 2007.  Professor Xie is widely recognized as an authority in education research in China, particularly in the sociological analysis of higher education and education equity. He presented a lecture on "Reform and Innovative Construction of the Structure of China's Higher Education" (see Publication Number V-15*) at Teachers College on Feb. 13, 2007.  The event was jointly sponsored by the Center on Chinese Education and the National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education.  Professor Henry Levin hosted the lecture. Professor Xie shared his research on the equity and quality of higher education in China.  More than 40 students and scholars interested in China's education attended the event.
