The Sixth Advanced Seminar on Education Leadership was held at Teachers College
The sixth Advanced Seminar on Education Leadership was held at Teachers College Columbia University on November 10th to 21st, 2008. It consisted of presentations and discussion at Teachers College. Like the previous three seminars, the major theme of the seminar focused on effective education leadership and school reform. The speakers shared their experiences and research in the standards of effective school leadership, teacher evaluation, school finance, and so on. Also the participants observed five NYC schools within the second week with the collaboration with Cahn Fellow Program, Teachers College. Additionally, a panel discussion was arranged between Chinese and American principals exchanging their experiences in education leadership. Participants consisted of 53 primary and secondary school principals, chancellors, and other educators from Beijing Education Institute and the school districts in 19 different provinces and cities in China.
The Chinese delegation was led by Mrs. Hui Jin of the Center Education Development, Chinese Society of Education. At Teachers College, Professor Mun Tsang was the organizer while Mr. Dakai Li and Ms. Sophia Zhang were the project managers.
