TOEFL Preparation I:
This class is designed for students who are new to TOEFL and wish to familiarize themselves with the iBT TOEFL test. It focuses on general skills and test-taking strategies needed to prepare for the different sections of the test, such as reading and listening for main idea, facts, purpose, inferences and attitudes; note-taking, planning, organizing, and delivering a spoken and written response. Although emphasis in on the independent tasks, integrated sections will also be introduced. To be eligible for this class, students must score into level I4 or higher.
TOEFL Preparation II:
This class is designed for students who have some familiarity with TOEFL and wish to further develop and maximize their performance on the iBT TOEFL test. It focuses on strengthening their skills and test-taking strategies needed to improve test results. All sections of the TOEFL test are practiced, but emphasis is on the integrated tasks. To be eligible for this class, students must score into level A3 or higher.
All new students are required to take a placement exam. Testing dates will be listed on the registration page. Please check our website for more information. Please note that all placement test data will be used for research and placing students in a class appropriate for his or her level.
The Community English Program reserves the right to cancel or change classes if necessary. Classes with less than 8 students registered after the first week are subject to cancellation.
If the class is cancelled, a full refund will only be given during the first week of class. If students wish to drop out of a class, they must notify our office within the first week of classes to receive a refund. Please check this site regularly for updates on other classes and languages.
