A
HANDS ON TRAINING PROGRAM
Putting Children First provides an
opportunity for doctoral students to link their academic learning with
their interests in social policy. Fellows spend eight weeks in New York
City and learn first hand the policy formation and implementation process
by working in a City or State agency on a policy relevant project. Fellowships
are from June 5, 2000 through July 28, 2000.

SUMMER 2000 SEMINAR SERIES
Fellows meet at the Center for Children and Families,
at Teachers College, for two types of weekly seminars.
- Leading policy scientists and practitioners present
weekly lectures that provide a link between a developmental perspective
and policy issues on the national, state and local levels.
- A weekly discussion and study group on social policy
issues, which provides fellows opportunities to work on joint projects
and learn from each other.
