Bridging the Digital Divide:
Technology Tutoring Aids Parents’ Ability to Enforce a Child’s
Right to Learn
Where there is a question of educational equity and closing the achievement gap, TC EdZone Director Dr. Dawn Arno knew that parents needed tools and appropriate support to become full partners in their children’s school learning. Many parents are not fully aware of just what their children should be learning in the classroom and the role that technology can play in supporting children’s learning. Thus, the TC EdZone Saturday Math program for 3rd and 4th graders was designed with full participation of parents as part of the program design.
