TC EdZone on Saturdays at Convent Ave Baptist

IThe "Community Classroom," directed by Professors Denise E. Ross and Ginny Stolarski, integrates hands-on teaching and evaluation of school-age children in Harlem with courses in educational assessment and applied behavior analysis at Teachers College. Each semester, students enrolled in these and other courses volunteer one or more Saturdays a month to assess and teach math, science, and reading skills to children attending a Saturday tutoring program in Harlem . 

Their experiences complete their course practicum requirements, and one advanced student receives TC Ed Zone community work study funding to support students on-site. This project is a partnership between the Special Education Program s in the Health and Behavior Studies Department, the TC Ed Zone, and Convent Avenue Baptist Church in Harlem.
