Barbara Banks
Group Leader
Barbara was born in New York and raised in Virginia. She returned to her NY roots and now lives in Harlem. She attended John F. Kennedy High School where her favorite subject was English. After graduating, Barbara attended the Borough of Manhattan Community College where she majored in Early Childhood Education.
Barbara’s favorite things to do in after-school are homework, reading books, and arts and crafts. In her spare time Barbara enjoys taking her daughter to dance class, choir practice, and Barnes and Noble to read books. Barbara volunteers with the Dance Theater of Harlem, she also volunteers to chaperone field trips with her daughter and granddaughter’s schools. Barbara collects dolls and makes clothing for them. She also has a degree in the nursing field – a very well educated woman!

Martina Reyes
Group Leader
Martina was born and raised in Harlem. She attended the Choir Academy of Harlem where her favorite subject was English. After graduating she attended Hostos Community college where she majored in Liberal Arts.
Martina’s favorite thing about after-school is the vast array of activities that the program is able to offer to the kids. In her spare time Martina likes to write poetry and read. She has been a wonderful advocate for the Community Word Project at PS 92, we’re so happy she’s with the program again this year!
Tatiana Suero
Group Leader
Tatiana is originally from Washington Heights but now lives in Harlem. She attended Murry Bergtraum High School where her favorite subject was Computers. She currently attends Lehman College where she majors in Business Administration.
Tatiana’s favorite thing about after-school is helping the students view different academic subjects in a more enjoyable way. In her spare time Tatiana likes to spend time with her family and friends.
Tyreck Ward
Group Leader
Tyreck is from, and currently lives in, the Bronx. He attended high school at the Bronx Engineering and Technology Academy where his favorite subject was Chemistry. After graduating he went to college at the University of Bridgeport where he majored in Business.
Tyreck’s favorite thing about after-school is helping the children learn while having fun in a safe environment. In his spare time Tyreck likes to play sports and spend time with his family and friends.
