Format of the School Day – Morning Class
Children ages 3-4
At Hollingworth Preschool, our three and four year old children attend from 8:30 until 11:30 in the morning five days a week. Additionally two days a week the children stay for an extended day, attending school until 1:00 in the afternoon.
The two day a week Extended Morning Program from 11:30 to 1:00 is a program for children in the morning class. This additional 1 ½ hours two days a week, takes place in our auxiliary classroom in 264 Macy. During this extended day program, all children are afforded an opportunity for further enrichment in small groups of 8 or 9 children with two teachers, under the direction of the Morning Class Head Teacher.The children participate in small group activities; lunch with their peers and teachers; and choice time involving free play and sensory explorations. Children are assigned to an Extended Morning Program by the preschool director and the head teacher on either: Mondays and Tuesdays; or Wednesdays and Thursdays
The school year begins after Labor Day in September, with a gradual entry, and concludes in early June.

Children ages 4-5
Our four and five year old children attend from 11:45 in the morning until 4:00in the afternoon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays, the Afternoon Class dismisses at 3:00 in the afternoon.
The school year begins in September after Labor Day and concludes in mid June.
