Alumnae Book Talk
"Never underestimate that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
The Alumnae Book Talk Group was established to encourage the critical reflection of selected works and to challenge the incorporation of these ideas into daily life. The women in this group gather twice a semester to discuss a book relevant to their lives as educators. The members of this group, all Teachers College alumnae, come from varied backgrounds. Books discussed include Respect: An Exploration by Sara Lawrence Lightfoot, Bone Black by bell hooks, and Amazing Grace: The Lives of Children and the Conscience of a Nation by Jonathan Kozol.
