"Expanding Access to Dual Enrollment: Research Findings and Institutional Practice"
April 7, 2008, 8:45-9:45am
Dual enrollment is increasingly popular across the
country, and many argue that a wide range of students should be
permitted to participate. The Community College Research Center now has
evidence from programs in Florida and in New York City that students,
including those underrepresented in postsecondary education or enrolled
in CTE programs, can benefit from dual enrollment. In this session, college leaders from those
states provided practical information about their programs, focusing on
how dual enrollment can help to create an efficient educational
continuum for students of all levels.
Participants:
Katherine L. Hughes (Assistant Director for Work and Education Reform Research, Teachers College, Columbia University); Eduardo Marti (President, Queensborough Community College, CUNY); Jose Vicente (Campus President, Miami Dade College, North Campus
