[See All Events]Determinants of Students’ Success: The Role of Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment Programs
While Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment are two distinct accelerating programs, both share the goal of allowing students to earn college credits or get direct placement into advanced college courses. Despite the popularity and growth of these programs, there is little to no evidence on how both programs fare in terms of improving college access and success. This presentation looked at a paper that uses data from two cohorts of all high school students in Florida and controlling for schools’ and students’ characteristics (including prior achievement); the paper examines the relative effectiveness of AP and DE to increase college enrollment and degree attainment.Participant:
