Ripp, A.S., Forman, M., Rom, J. & Rom, D. (2002). Parents Demonstrating New Models of Integrated Services: Can Schools and Professionals Adapt?
This was a panel presentation at the annual Council for Exceptional Children Conference held in New York City.
Parents on the panel, all of whom have a child with special needs, presented alternative and complementary practices they have been using and researching for their children. A lively discussion with the audience revealed that only a certain percentage of parents in the United States have access to these types of resources and there are so many other parents, professionals and students interested in learning more about alternatives to traditional educational and therapeutic services.
