After a brief review of research and theory in decision making, the session focused on a study examining the relative impact of different types of coercive tactics on the interpersonal decision-making response of adolescents with mental retardation.
This session featured the presentation of three research studies assessing the views of special education and general education teachers and teacher trainees on key factors in the education of students with and without disabilities.
Glinou, N., M. Phil. and Hickson, L., Ph.D. Vocational Transition: Perspectives on Post School Outcomes for People with Developmental Disabilities.
This presentation reported on a study examining possible differences in the views regarding the process of transition and the currently available employment models among three groups of professionals who work directly with people with developmental disabilities. These groups were transition teachers, vocational counselors, and human services professionals of an agency for adults with disabilities that offer day treatment, day habilitation, and supported employment programs.
