“People in the contemporary world are striving for blossoming of flowers, but nobody cares about the soil in which those flowers must be rooted.
In the western rationality are found western capitalism and desire for power. Has this world stood on the foundation of reason and conviction only?
Are we so sure about our trajectory of history solely on the basis of 'recorded' history?
Protest and art based on protest do not need proof and evidence. To talk about reason and sound judgment s?imply add to another form of barbarism.
Therefore, my meditation is not something tranquil which submerges into inner self, but something that is open to communicating with outside world. My meditation is my flesh and blood which enlighten my inner self. My logic is not at the same dimension as that of Picasso's or Matisse's rationality. But my logic is not like Dadaism either, which exudes anger of self-destruction.”

“인류는 저마다 그 꽃을 피우겠다 아우성치지만 발딛고 선
진흙의 소중함을 간과하고 있다. 서구적 합리주의 사상은 이론의 정합성과
이성적 세계관을 이야기하지만 그 바탕에 선 서구 자본과 권력의 모습은
점점 더 이성을 잃어 가고 있다. 어디 인류가 남긴 발자욱이
이성과 확신으로만 이루졌단 말인가?
더구나 무수한 발자욱 중 역사로 기록되어 남아 있는 것 만으로
남은 시간을 예측할 수 있겠는가. 저항은, 그것에 소용되는 예술은
검증과 증거를 전제로 하지 않는다. 내가 살아 온 땅에서 합리를 이야기 하고
이성적 판단을 이야기 하는 것은 또 하나의 야만이다.

따라서 나의 명상은 내부로 침잠하는 고요한 그 무엇이 아닌
외부와 연대하고 내부를 각성시키는 저항의 기반과 같은 것이다.
나의 조형논리는 피카소와 마티스의 합리성에 있지 않다”.
