Dear Degree Candidate,
Congratulations on your work toward completing the requirements to receive your degree from Teachers College, Columbia University! We look forward to welcoming your family and friends to campus on Tuesday May 19, 2009 and Wednesday, May 20, 2009 to celebrate your achievement and wish you well as you enter the next phase of your life.
Commencement celebrations begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 with two Teachers College Masters Degree Ceremonies at The Riverside Church at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Departments are assigned to one of the two ceremonies in order to accommodate all of our Masters degree candidates and their guests. Each ceremony is followed by a light reception at Teachers College for graduates, their guests, faculty and staff.
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 begins with the Columbia University Commencement Exercises at 10:30 a.m. on Low Plaza on the University Campus. The Teachers College Hooding Ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. at The Riverside Church. Doctoral graduates who have completed all requirements, including submission of the dissertation to the Office of Doctoral Studies by the dates specified by the College, will be individually announced and hooded at this program. Immediately following the ceremony, a light reception is held at Teachers College for all graduates, guests, faculty and staff.
