Planning Process
The ongoing design and implementation of the school’s program is guided by school leader, teachers and other educational experts in consultation with the faculty at Teachers College. The planning process for TCCS began in 2008 through consultation with the New York City Department of Education and community stakeholders including Community Board 9 and the West Harlem Local Development Corporation. The planning efforts established:
1. Frameworks for educational and community programming at the school;
2. Design principles for aligning the physical space with the educational vision; and
3. Agreements with the DOE re: college and community partnership roles at the school.
