Community EngagementTeachers College collaborated with Community Board 9 in hosting three Community Conversations about the new school to gather constituents’ input. A total of 110 people attended the community conversations in 2009-10, including parents, grandparents, teachers, PTA leaders, community activists, mental health workers, university affiliates and other concerned citizens and community members. Participants’ responses and conversations in each small group were recorded by a note-taker; these notes were transcribed, synthesized, and analyzed into a full report.
The report is available here: Community Conversations Report. The first three pages provide a summary of the responses and recommendations. Pages 4-15 provide additional detail of the feedback in input provided by participants.
The College continues to collaborate with Community Board 9 through its Youth, Education and Libraries Committee. A CB9 representative sits on the School Leadership Team.
