When you open your device to select a Wi-Fi network, you will see “TC” or “TC WiFi”. During the transition to the new network, select the wireless network with the stronger signal.

  1. First-time log-in.
    • When located in Zankel Building, Russell Hall Library, Thompson Hall, and Horace Mann, students, faculty and staff will log in the first time by clicking on “TC” and selecting connect automatically.  Open your browser, if it doesn't open automatically then call the Service Desk for assistance at x3300 or e-mail at servicedesk@tc.columbia.edu,  Each separate device must go through this process.
    • When located in the rest of the campus, students, faculty, and staff will log in the first time by clicking on “TC WiFi” and selecting connect automatically.  Open your browser, if it doesn't open automatically then call the Service Desk for assistance at x3300 or e-mail at servicedesk@tc.columbia.edu,  Each separate device must go through this process.
  2. Subsequent log-ins.
    • Students, faculty and staff will automatically be connected to “TC” in Zankel Building, Russell Hall Library, Thompson Hall, and Horace MannFor remaining parts of the campus, students, faculty and staff will automatically be connected to “TC WiFi”.
  3. Transitioning from Building to Building with your mobile device.
    • During this transition, due to the differences in our current technology and the new solution being implemented, you will experience disconnections when walking between buildings that have different Wi-Fi solutions.  So as an example, going from Zankel into Grace Dodge, you will lose your connection to the new Zankel “TC” Wi-Fi network, and will need to reconnect to the “TC WiFi” Wi-Fi network in Grace Dodge.  The good thing is once you do this a few times; it should remember your connections and automatically transition your Wi-Fi connection.
