Accept Canvas Invitation with a TC UNI

1. First you need to accept Canvas course invitation

2. When you receive your email invitation from Canvas, click the Get Started button.

3. Once the Get Started button is clicked, you will be prompted to accept the invite. If you have a TC UNI, click “I Have a Canvas Account” and login with your UNI.

Accessing Canvas

You can access Canvas by logging into the TC Portal, then click on the Courses tab at the top and then click on Canvas Courses.



If this doesn’t work, it’s because your TC UNI hasn’t been merged with your Canvas account. You will need to go to https://tc.instructure.com/login/canvas. Then enter your email and the password you created for Canvas. To merge your two accounts, email servicedesk@tc.columbia.edu.

Mobile access

If your TC UNI is merged with the TC Canvas account, you can use the Canvas mobile app on your mobile device. Download the Canvas by Instructure app. When it prompts for the name of your school, enter tc.instructure.com and then enter your UNI and password.

If your TC UNI is not merged with the TC Canvas account, you will not be able to use the Canvas mobile app. To access the course on a mobile device, you will need to go to your browser and go to https://tc.instructure.com/login/canvas.
