You may find Files by placing the mouse on the Content tab (top menu). Now click on Files.
The Files feature in Mahara is a repository in which you can upload and save your files for later use. These files can be displayed publically to any page. NOTE: Your space quota in Mahara is 500MB.
To upload file in Mahara, you need to make sure that you own the rights to this file. You will need to check Yes, before you can upload a file. Once you click on the checkbox next to Yes, you will be able to click on Choose Files. Search for the image on your computer and click on Open to select the image. You will see a message
To upload a file into a specific folder, you must create the folder first. To create a folder, type in the name of the folder, next to the Create folder button. Once you have typed in the name, click on Create folder.
Your new folder is displayed underneath Home. To upload a file within a folder you first need to click on the name of your folder.
For example, if I clicked on test, I should see the following:
Now proceed to upload the file.
To upload multiple files at once, you can do the following:
- Create a zip file on your computer and upload the zip file to Mahara.
- Drop and Drag multiple files in the drop zone (Drop files here to upload)
- Select multiple files by Holding down the Ctrl key (or Command key on a Mac) and click on all the files that you wish to upload at once.
To edit or delete a file, select on the pencil icon (to edit) or the trashcan icon (to delete). These icons are located on the right of each file.
