Global Learning Alliance
New York Conference 2014

April 9-10, 2014

Education for Global Capacities, Ethics and Innovation

The following two days of the conference (April 9 and 10) will be open to GLA and non-GLA educators and scholars. This will feature keynote symposiums and presentations by participants across the world on the theme of “What in the world are schools doing to cultivate 21st century capacities, and why does this matter?”

A call for proposals was disseminated to universities and schools worldwide in early August 2013 and abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the organizing committee. Participants who have their abstracts accepted will then register for the conference in early February. Keynote speakers from various universities in China, Singapore, Finland and the USA as well as speakers from organizations such as Microsoft and Teach for America have accepted the invitation to speak on topics such as Asian perspectives to 21st century education – Shanghai and Singapore; gaming and 21st century education; 21st century for high-needs urban schools; and the politics of globalization and 21st century education.
