Teachers College is delighted to welcome the family and friends of the Class of 2013!   We hope to make your visit to TC a memorable occasion by providing some information which you may find useful as you plan for your stay with us. 

TEACHERS COLLEGE MASTERS DEGREE CONVOCATIONS
TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2013
THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue

Two ceremonies are held  in honor of TC’s Masters degree graduates and candidates. Students are recognized by name as they walk across the stage and the Medal for Distinguished Service to Education is presented. Ceremonies last approximately 2 hours.

9:30 a.m. MASTERS CONVOCATION I   -   Doors open to ticket holders at 8:30 a.m.

2:00 p.m. MASTERS CONVOCATION II  -  Doors open to ticket holders at 1:00 p.m.

RECEPTIONS  - Graduates and their guests are invited to join TC faculty and staff for a light reception at Teachers College in Everett Lounge, Zankel Hallway, 179 Grace Dodge Hall, and Russell Courtyard  immediately following each ceremony.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT
WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2013
LOW PLAZA on MORNINGSIDE CAMPUS

Columbia University degrees are granted en masse to graduating students from Columbia’s eighteen schools, colleges, and affiliated institutions.  The Commencement Address is delivered by the President of the University, and medals, awards, and honors are bestowed.  No candidate officially graduates until the ceremony is completed. The ceremony lasts approximately 2 hours. 

10:30 a.m. Ceremony

Gates open to ticket holders at 8:30 a.m.
General Admission gates are on West 114th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues.

TEACHERS COLLEGE DOCTORAL HOODING CEREMONY
WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2013
THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue
Following the Columbia University Commencement Exercises, Teachers College honors the achievements of its Doctoral degree recipients in a hooding ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. The TC Medal for Distinguished Service is presented at this ceremony.  The ceremony lasts approximately 2 hours.

2:00 p.m. - Doors open to ticket holders at 1:00 p.m.

Reception

Graduates and their guests are invited to join TC faculty and staff for a light reception in Russell Courtyard at Teachers College immediately following the hooding ceremony.


HOW TO OBTAIN TICKETS

Each guest who attends, including children, will need a ticket for admission to the Teachers College ceremonies and to University Commencement. Candidates do not need tickets, but must be in academic regalia.

Following Spring Break, candidates will register online to march at the appropriate ceremony, and to request tickets. All tickets are issued by Teachers College and distributed to candidates at the Columbia University Ticket Center.

Teachers College Masters Degree Convocations
Tickets to the two Masters Ceremonies are limited to two (2) per marching candidate. 
Teachers College Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
Doctoral degree candidates will receive seven (7) tickets to their hooding ceremony.
