The Dean Hope Center would like to inform you of our new fee and fee policy for all assessments and reading and writing remediation services. We continue to offering a sliding fee to clients and families who experience economic hardship. Clients and families who are qualified for sliding scale consideration at Dean Hope Center are also qualified for public assistance, food stamp, SSI, Medicaid, Medicare and unemployment insurance. Clients and families wishing to apply for sliding scale are required to provide copies of official documents from government agencies along with a completed Fee Adjustment Form, obtained through Dean Hope Center.

Adult clients currently enrolled full-time in an academic program and wishing to apply for sliding scale are  required to present a valid full-time student ID as well as an official student financial statement listing income resources including student loan, scholarship or grant.

Clients or families who do not receive public entitlements/benefits, listed above, are required to pay for the full cost of the service.  

 
As a training clinic, we do not accept any medical insurance at the moment. Sliding scale fee will be determined based on each individual household income and expenses for clients who request individual, couple, family and child psychotherapy. You can inquiry fee adjustment procedure after your first visit at the Center. If you would like to use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) to cover for your out-of-pocket expenses, please inquiry a billing statement and additional information from the Associate Director at 212-678-3370212-678-3370.
 
Services

Applications are only accepted according to the academic schedule of Teachers College Columbia University. Please review following information carefully and contact our main office Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm at 212-678-3262212-678-3262 if you have any further questions. 
 

Intake & Services are free of charge. 
Applications accepted year round in both the Fall and Spring semesters.

Veterans services are offered to adult veterans as well as their family members, spouses, and children. Providers are trained by the Teachers College Resilience Center for Veterans and Families. Being a veteran or a family member of a veteran is viewed as unique multicultural identity. Our services are tailored to be relevant and understanding of experiences unique to veterans and their family members. 
 
After an application is submitted, a brief phone screening is conducted to help identify areas of need and to recommend the most appropriate counselor and modality of treatment for each applicant. After the phone screening, an initial intake appointment with your provider will be scheduled. 

Psychological Services for Adults
 
Intake free of charge
Offered in Spring semester only. Interviews to help identify main difficulties interfering with normal functioning and to recommend most appropriate counseling/therapy; applications accepted from January to March.
 
Adult Individual Psychotherapy  $40/session
Offered year-round. These services are available for short term and long term. Various modalities of treatment are offered, from cognitive behavior therapy to psychodynamic; application accepted year-round.
 
Career/Vocational Appraisal and Counseling  $40/session 
Vocational tests range from $6 to $9
Offered year-round. Counseling for adults with career or job-related issues. Vocational interest testing is offered in conjunction with counseling; application accepted year-round.
 
Psychological Assessment $1000
Offered in Spring and Fall semester. Diagnostic test evaluation of cognitive, emotional/personality skills; applications accepted from September to January. 
 
Couples Counseling $40/session
 
Offered from October to May. Short-term guidance to help couples assess their relationship strengths and establish goals for the future while addressing present difficulties. Applications accepted from September to November.
 
Family Therapy $40/session
 
Offered from October to May. Short-term guidance to help families assess their family members’ strengths and establish goals for the future while addressing present difficulties. Provide guidance for family conflicts; applications accepted from September to November.

Group $150/semester
Offered from October to June. Emotional Skills Group, Women's Support Group and Parenting Group. 
 
Psychological Services for Children

Child & Adolescent Play Therapy $40/session
Offered year-round. This service is available for short term and long term. Various modalities of treatment are offered, from cognitive behavior therapy to psychodynamic; application accepted year-round.
 
Psychological Assessment $1000
Offered in Spring and Fall semester. Diagnostic test evaluation of cognitive, emotional/personality skills; applications accepted from September to January. 
 
Educational Services for Children
 
Psycho-Educational (Cognitive & Educational Only) $1000
Offered in Fall semester. Diagnostic test evaluation of cognitive and academic achievement; does not include emotional/personality skills assessment; applications accepted from July to September.

Reading & Writing Remediation $1000/per semester
Offered in Spring and Fall semester. Tutoring for writing reading skills and related school subject difficulties; applications accepted year round.
 
Psycho-educational Assessment $1000
Offered in Spring semester. Diagnostic test evaluation of cognitive, emotional/personality skills and academic achievement; application accepted from November to February.
