• The obstacles that trans and gender non-conforming students face on college campuses
• The best practices / approaches to address these obstacles
• How we build a gender-inclusive campus in a gender-binary society

Dr. Susan (Sue) Rankin is author (with Dr. Genny Beemyn) of The Lives of Transgender People. She is an associate professor at The Pennsylvania State University and a senior research associate at the Center for the Study of Higher Education. She has presented and published widely on the impact of sexism, racism, gender- ism, and heterosexism in the academy and intercollegiate athletics. Her recent publications include the 2010 State of Higher Education for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People and Our Place on Campus: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Services and Programs in Higher Education.
