Event Details: Neurodynamic Lunch Hour

Description:
Neurodynamic Lunch Hour
How We Got This Way: Our Amazing Evolutionary Design

Do you spend hours sitting in front of a computer? Do you get stiff? Does your back hurt at times?

Then take time to Be Neurodynamic and come and figure out what you're doing during the day which contributes to those little aches and pains we all feel at times, and how to prevent them through body awareness, rather than recourse to drugs and treatment. Come partake of light refreshments, and learn how Neurodynamics can help your health! This week we'll focus on our amazing evolutionary design.

Be Neurodynamic is an invitation to the TC Community from Dr. Theodore Dimon, head of The Dimon Institute and adjunct assistant professor at Teachers College, to share his work in health and education. Dr. Dimon is the author of several books published by North Atlantic: Your Body, Your Voice (2011); The Body in Motion: Its Evolution and Design (2010); Anatomy of the Moving Body (2008); and The Undivided Self (1999). He received his doctorate in 1987 from Harvard University and wrote his dissertation on Performing Arts, Pedagogy, and the Work of F. M. Alexander.

This series is sponsored by Teachers College Vice President’s President’s Diversity and Community Initiatives Grant Fund; Spirituality and Mind/Body Institute; and Gottesman Libraries.

Instructional materials or weekly information sheets explaining how we are designed to move and function may be accessed via Pocketknowledge.
