Civic Involvement: VOTE 2013 in the NYC Mayoral Election

Registering to vote is an ongoing responsibility of civic life.  All segments of the community can work together to provide reminders and offer opportunities to register quickly and easily. When voter registration becomes second nature, it can become a permanent fixture in campus life, and then more time and attention can be devoted to educating members of the community about the issues of national, state, and local importance.  Please be aware that the voter registration and voting laws have changed in many states.  Please investigate the laws in your home state.

The 2013 New York City mayoral election is scheduled to occur on November 5, 2013, along with elections for Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough Presidents, and members of the New York City Council. The primary elections are scheduled for September 10, 2013. If no candidate obtains 40% of the vote, a runoff between the top two finishers will be held on October 1.
