IMPORTANT DEADLINES FOR TC DOCTORAL CANDIDATES
COMMENCEMENT – SPRING TERM 2013
IMPORTANT NOTE
You must file notification in the Office of Doctoral Studies of your intention to defend the Ph.D. or the Ed.D. dissertation during Spring Term 2013 by January 31, 2013.
| December 21 | Final date for Ed.D. students to be fully certified and have an approved dissertation proposal with IRB approval on file with the Office of Doctoral Studies in order to hold an Ed.D. dissertation defense in the Spring Term 2013 |
| April 8 * | Last Day to submit the Ed.D. Final Oral Defense Application or Application to Schedule the Ph.D. Final Oral Defense for Spring Term 2013 in order to receive a May 2013 degree. |
| April 29 * | Last Day to hold dissertation defense and be eligible for May 22 award of degree |
| May 3 * | Last Day to deposit Ed.D. dissertation and abstracts for May 22 award of degree |
| May 17 | Last Day to deposit Ph.D. dissertation with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for the award of the May degree. (Deposit must be completed by 4 p.m.) |

| Columbia University Commencement Exercises 10:30 a.m. Teachers College Doctoral Degree Convocation 2:00 p.m. |
*Any student who is seeking an exception to the eligibility requirements listed above must submit a request stating the rationale for requesting the exception and a statement of support from the dissertation committee (sponsor and 2nd reader).
