I am from Santo Domingo, Dominican republic. I came to the united states because my mother came to live here and I wanted to live with her. It took me about 3 hours and 30 minutes to get here by plane. When I came here I brought clothes, shoes, candy, pictures and memories from my home country. During the trip I was thinking how different my life was going to be, how will I develop my education, how I will learn if I don't know the language and how I will get to talk with other people if they only talk English. I thought that JFK airport was just the begining of a new journey and that I would get to know a lot more things that I've heard of, I also thought where was I going to live and how my future was going to be different.
