Curriculum & Teaching

SAllison Donnelly

M.A., Deaf Education

Allison Donnelly chose to attend Teachers College to further advance her deaf educational skills. She relished the opportunity to go from a large state university setting as an undergraduate to the more focused graduate environment of Teachers College. As she works toward a Master's in Deaf Education with a focus on Hard of Hearing and Mental Retardation, she has grown to further appreciate the mission and goals of TC.

"Not only is Teachers College, Columbia University a top-notch school," says Donnelly, "but TC is innovative in the ways they look at urban education and the way they seek to really change what goes on to make education across the country better for students. It's not just that you can say 'it's Columbia University.' It's that you can say that this school's philosophy provides this great outlook for education in general."
