I completed my MA from TC in 2001 and began my career at a school on 135th Street and Convent Avenue called A. Philip Randolph Campus High School. It was a fantastic place where I really "grew up" as a teacher and learned to appreciate the profound complexity of this act we call teaching. After six years, I moved to my current school, The Bronx High School of Science, where I continue to appreciate just how wonderfully complex learning and teaching are.
In my current research as a doctoral student at Teachers College, I'm interested in how new teachers learn their craft. I'm particularly interested in how we learn fluency in the improvisational aspects of our practice and in how curriculum is in a state of constant revision. I'm intrigued by how what we value alters and becomes altered by how we teach.
