Biographical Information

Esti Hellmann began her career in education as an early childhood classroom teacher, working

with the most underserved students in NYC.  This classroom experience focused her on the

importance of supporting students in developing strong literacy skills in the early years.  Esti is

currently a doctoral student of educational psychology at The Graduate Center, studying

narrative summarization and text structure.  She has held post-secondary teaching positions in

undergraduate and graduate education programs at Kingsborough Community College, Queens

College, and Teachers College.  Esti has a keen interest in furthering educational research and

has collaborated on a range of education-based research efforts at the Yale Child Study Center,

the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education, and Experimental Therapeutics at Columbia

University Medical Center.
