Dr. Gina Buontempo has been a member of the faculty of the Social-Organizational Psychology Program in the Department of Organization and Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University since 2005 and is currently a Senior Lecturer and the M.A. Program Advisor in the Social-Organizational Psychology Program. She is also the Director of the Eisenhower and Benavidez Leader Development Programs (ELDP and BLDP), which include Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers in the military. Dr. Buontempo teaches Organizational Psychology, Understanding Behavioral Research, Organizational Dynamics and Theory, and is a guest lecturer in an emotional intelligence course. She coordinates the Comprehensive Exam for the M.A. students in the Fall and Spring semesters. In her role as Program Advisor for the M.A. Program in Social-Organizational Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, which consists of approximately 225 graduate students, she advises students on a variety of academic and professional issues. In addition, Dr. Buontempo serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Teachers College, Columba University Chapter of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, which is comprised of psychology students across Teachers College.

Her research centers on emotional intelligence, decision-making, leadership, and gender issues in the workplace. Dr. Buontempo maintains an independent practice in organizational consulting and coaching. She is a Certified Executive Coach through the Columbia Coaching Certification Program (CCCP). She has consulting experience in learning and development and has worked in financial services. Some of her projects have included delivering management training programs on leading through resource constraints; delivering performance management, cross-training, and knowledge transfer management meetings; working on an internal client feedback process; planning offsite meetings; and developing, delivering, and analyzing surveys.

Dr. Buontempo holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from Seton Hall University and a Ph.D. in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
