Biographical Information

Selenid Gonzalez Frey completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester and holds a MSEd in Childhood Education as well a Master’s degree in Literacy from Canisius College. Selenid has worked as a literacy interventionist for struggling K-2 students in the Rochester City School District. She has also taught fourth grade and was a K-5 academic interventionist in the NYCDOE. She is currently a doctoral student in the Education Psychology program at the CUNY Graduate Center, studying segmenting and blending strategies for learning to read in the early grades. She has held post-secondary teaching positions in undergraduate and graduate psychology and education programs at Hunter College and Brooklyn College.
