International School Moshi
A boarding and day school established in 1969 as part of the global International School network. The school accepts children between the ages of 3 -19 and offers a limited number of scholarships to Tanzanian students.

·Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC)
The primary referral hospital in northern Tanzania. It is a Christian institution designed to promote healing, research, and teaching in a number of medical fields.

Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project
This program is part of the International Mountain Explorers Connection, which seeks to promote connections between travelers to mountain regions and the people living in nearby communities. This particular project carries out a host of projects aimed at educating travelers climbing Mount Kilimanjaro about the lives of the porters and their communities. ·Kilimanjaro Women’s Group against AIDS (KIWAKKUKI)
A non-governmental organization started by women in the town of Moshi to address the AIDS crisis. Its mission is to sensitize and educate the community in the Kilimanjaro Region and to facilitate the provision of services to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

·Mkombozi Centre for Street Children
A school and home for male street children in the Kilimanjaro Region. The Centre provides accommodation, education, food, and health care, as well as community outreach and re-integration programs.

·Mkombozi Vocational Training Centre
A vocational training school and community education centre in Moshi. Its goal is to provide training in a number of vocational fields, especially for women seeking post-primary education. The Centre also supports the Mkombozi Youth Group that uses drama and music to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and the TAHEA (Tanzania Home Economics Association) micro-enterprise booth near the Moshi Police Station.

·Qoheleth Foundation Tanzania
A Christian non-governmental organization based in Moshi. Its mission is to encourage sustainable development and employment for rural youth in the Kilimanjaro Region. Members are engaged in teaching youth to build low-cost block homes, and they have built a model home for AIDS orphans in the Moshi Municipality.

· Tanzania Environmental Action Association
An independent non-governmental, non-religious, and non-political organization with its headquarters in the Mbokomu ward of the Moshi Rural District. Its aims are to educate people about the importance of the environment, to prepare seedlings and reforest areas around Mount Kilimanjaro, to conserve water sources and soil, and to participate directly in matters of environmental protection.
