BPW/NYS Grace LeGendre Endowment Funds, Inc.
The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund, Inc. offers several Grace LeGendre Fellowships for one academic year in the amount of $1000 to women who are registered in graduate studies and within two years of completing the degree program requirements at an accredited college or university in the state of New York.

The Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship for nurses in NYS

Money for New York State nurses!
This scholarship assists New York State nurses in furthering their education in pursuit of a career in home and community-based care. Applicants can apply for scholarships up to $2,000 that can be used for educational expenses including tuition, books, specialty training and education, and other related costs. Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship
The Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship Program is predicated on the belief that “the security, stability, and economic vitality of the United States in a complex global era depend upon American experts in citizens knowledgeable about world regions, foreign languages, and international affairs, as well as upon a strong research base in these areas.”FLAS fellowships strengthen the nation’s ability to respond to security threats and to compete effectively in the modern world by promoting foreign language competence and area and international knowledge and by ensuring the continuance of area expertise in a variety of fields, including academe.

Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program
Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarships are being offered to increase the number of educators and adjunct clinical faculty teaching nursing education in

New York State. Awards are made on a competitive basis to applicants who are registered professional nurses enrolling in graduate programs that will qualify them as nursing faculty or adjunct clinical faculty.

New York State Math & Science Teaching Incentive Scholarships are being offered to increase the number of secondary school educators in the mathematics and science fields. This program provides awards to students attending school at the undergraduate and/or master’s degree level if they agree to teach secondary school math or science in New York State.

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
The Fellowships are grants for up to two years of graduate study in the United States . The recipients are chosen on a national competitive basis. The Theodore R. Sizer Dissertation Scholars Grant Program
The Coalition of Essential School announces the Theodore R. Sizer Dissertation Scholars Grant Program. The program's goals are:
- to stimulate research on CES schools and practice
- to increase our understanding of the effectiveness of the ten common principles and CES practice, and
- to encourage a new generation of scholars and educational researchers examining the CES philosophy.

Elderhostel K. Patricia Cross Doctoral Research Grant
The Elderhostel K. Patricia Cross Doctoral Research Grant was founded to aid doctoral students researching topics relevant to aging and lifelong and/or later-life learning. This $5,000 scholarship grant honors the work of K. Patricia Cross, PhD, former Elderhostel Board Member and Professor Emerita at the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley. We encourage graduate students whose doctoral research focuses on topics relevant to Elderhostel or lifelong/later-life learning to apply. This $5,000 grant may be used in any way that aids the recipient in either the completion or publication of their research and dissertation results.

Edward G. Begle Grant for Classroom-Based Research
The purpose of this grant is support and encourage classroom-based research in precollege mathematics education in collaboration with college or university mathematics educators. The research must be a significant collaborative effort involving a college or university mathematics educator (a mathematics education researcher or a teacher of mathematics learning, teaching, or curriculum) and one or more grades PreK–6 classroom teachers.

New York Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

The New York Tuition Assistance Program awards funds to residents of New York State who are attending an approved postsecondary institution in New York full-time. To be considered for this award, you must be charged at least $200 for tuition per year and be in good academic standing. This award is based on financial need and type of postsecondary institution in which you are enrolled. This award is renewable, provided you meet certain criteria.
Students who want to be considered for TAP must file a FAFSA, giving the federal government permission to release information to New York State. The Teachers College TAP code number: 5021.

Jeanne S. Chall Research Fellowship
The Jeanne S. Chall Research Fellowship is a $6,000 grant established to encourage and support reading research by promising scholars. The special emphasis of the Fellowship is to support research efforts in the following areas: beginning reading (theory, research, and practice that improves the effectiveness of learning to read); readability (methods of predicting the difficulty of texts); reading difficulty (diagnosis, treatment, and prevention); stages of reading development; the relation of vocabulary to reading; and diagnosing and teaching adults with limited reading ability.

Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowships
Teacher Fellowships are available to women K-12 public school teachers as individuals or as lead members of teams. Teams may be composed of teachers and administrators, including men and women. Funds support the development of innovative curriculum projects designed to encourage girls' interest and achievement in math, science, and/or technology. The fellowship supports professional development for teachers; educational opportunities for girls; and advancement of gender equity in the classroom, school, and district. Applicants must be committed to teaching for three years including the fellowship year.

Eligibility:

The fellowship is open to all public school, K-12 women teachers who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation Scholarship
ELA scholarships are available only to women graduate students with physical disablities who are enrolled in a college or university in the United States . The student must also (1) be active in a local, state, or national disablity organization - either in person or electronically - which is providing services and/or advocacy for people with disabilities. (2) The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to network with the ELA Board of Directors and the current and alumni scholarship recipients on their listserv. This will enhance the ELA's support base in professional and political arenas. (3) The student must be willing to update ELA with an annual letter on her progress in her academic and working career.
