Lemann Fellowship

The Lemann Fellowship at Teachers College (TC), Columbia University, is an extension of the commitment and generosity of the Lemann Foundation to foster educational service and exchange between Brazil and the TC educational community. Preferred applicants will be those that are citizens of Brazil who have demonstrated interest in social change in Brazil and intend to use their master's degree from TC to further those interests. The fund will provide full tuition, plus partial room and board, annually, for qualified master's degree candidates.

The Lemann Fellowship program aims to contribute to accelerating social change in Brazil through providing financial assistance to master’s students with commitment to addressing crucial development challenges facing Brazil, such as public health and education. The Fellowship is open to applicants with interests in the public, non-profit, and/or private sectors. Applicants can be Brazilian citizens, current or former residents of Brazil, or those of other nationalities that can demonstrate a strong interest in social change in Brazil (preference will be given to citizens of Brazil).

Those interested in applying for the Lemann Fellowship must submit a fellowship personal statement (in addition to the statement of purpose one submits with their TC Application for Admission). Applicants must also submit the Lemann Fellowship Interest Form. Please read through the Interest Form carefully and make sure that you meet the stated requirements.
These two items must be submitted to enrollmentservices@tc.columbia.edu by February 15th, 2014.

Please note: students must successfully complete and submit their application for admission to Teachers College before they may apply for the Lemann Fellowship.
